Catholic-Industrial Wedding in Brunswick + Lakewood, Ohio
Laura McGreer and Sam Gillispie were married on September 2nd, 2023 at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish in Brunswick, OH. Laura’s mom, Mrs. McGreer, visited my studio during Christmas In The Valley, an annual event in charming downtown Valley City where holiday festivities, shopping, crafters, and more gather for a day of fun. Shortly afterward, Laura booked a consultation with me and fell in love with my photography style from the samples I shared. Our personalities meshed flawlessly and the rest was history! The two of them knew from day one that photography and videography were equally important for their big day. Luckily, the TKC Team offers both services! My team and I captured their full wedding day starting with the bride and bridesmaids getting ready, the Catholic ceremony, wedding party portraits, and lastly, the reception.
A Catholic Ceremony
Laura and Sam opted for a traditional Catholic ceremony led by Father Bob Stec. Each of the six groomsmen escorted a bridesmaid down the aisle who carried stunning floral bouquets of pink and yellow by Hannah Caraballo Designs. Mr. Gillispie, Larua’s dad, walked her down the long aisle lined with many family and friends. Standing at the altar, Sam was trying his best to contain his emotions. As he saw his bride for the first time he was filled with tears of joy! Following the ceremony was a bubble exit and family portraits.
The Portrait Garden
The new Mr. & Mrs. Gillispie and their wedding party enjoyed some downtime on a BVIP Limousine Service party bus as it drove them to several beautiful portrait locations. But first, we all grabbed a Chick-fil-A sandwich that was waiting for us on the bus for lunch! So thoughtful of the two of them! The first location was Gardenview Horticultural Park in Strongsville, OH. The gardens are secluded, romantic, and oh so stunning that it was perfect for bridal portraits. Our next stop was the Cleveland Museum of Art where the bride and groom took individual photos with their bridesmaids and groomsmen along with group shots. The guys even had a little bit of fun shoving the groom around! The last photo stop was their venue, The Lake Erie Building in Lakewood, Ohio.
Industrial Vibes Reception
The Lake Erie Building, aka Screw Factory, holds importance to Laura and Sam, it’s where they first met! It was the perfect location for engagement photos and their wedding reception! While my team and I took the bride and groom portraits and videos, their guests were enjoying cocktail hour in a separate room. The newlyweds hired Amy Hudson of Amy’s Rustic Event Space and her crew for an array of coordination services including, complete bar service, appetizers for cocktail hour, and their beautiful gold and sea foam green place settings.
As Mr. & Mrs. Gillispie were introduced to their 150+ guests they immediately shared their first dance to Forever and Ever Amen by Randy Travis followed by a father-daughter dance to Landslide by Fleetwood Mac.
Several speeches were then given by some very important loved ones and a prayer by Mr. McGreer. A buffet dinner was served by City BBQ, the new couple cut their cake baked by Rito’s in Brunswick then everyone danced the night away with DJ services from Adam Elliot, aka DJ Flair.
As The Karleigh Collective was getting ready to depart for the evening, we were able to capture the bouquet toss! What a great day we had!
